Cove Cafe Breakfast Restaurant in Ogunquit - Maine

If you’re anything like me, you probably prefer to enjoy your breakfast while sitting at a table with a peek of the Gulf of Maine in the distance. There’s something about those blazing bright pinpoints of summer sunlight dancing on the morning waves that helps to get a day started right!

Lucky for all of us – this smile-inducing morning meal scenario is entirely possible at The Cove Cafe in the Perkins Cove area of Ogunquit – just a stone’s throw from the Marginal Way.

The Cove Cafe is owned by Heidi and Jeb Dufresne (who also run the family-owned Blue Water Inn and Restaurant – which is currently rebuilding after the major fire which rendered the building a total loss 2 weeks before they planned to open for the 2015 Summer Season).

This breakfast restaurant, which has been open since 2001 is super-quaint in a seaside-kind-of-way on the outside – and tastefully pays homage to the history and lobstermen of Perkins Cove on the inside. Heidi is a Perkins Cove native and has decorated the restaurant with some family memorabilia hitting home the local and storied significance of this celebrated and salty stretch of land.

The menu really has something for everyone. The Blueberry Pancakes at the Cove Cafe are a hit – and Jeb’s Crab Cake Benedict is the perfect breakfast choice to get you ready for a day in our ‘beautiful place by the sea’.

Parking at the restaurant itself is seriously limited – but there are pay lots nearby on both sides of the Cove Cafe. Of course, we always recommend walking while in Ogunquit! After you finish your breakfast, head down to Perkins Cove to watch the lobster boats and walk the Marginal Way for some of the most breathtaking coastal scenery in all of Maine. Make it a morning you’ll remember forever!
