ATTENTION ARTISTS + ART LOVERS: Ogunquit is hosting its 2nd Annual Plein Air Painting Event in beautiful Perkins Cove on Saturday, September 10th, 2022. Rain Date: September, 11th, 2022.
If you attend Ogunquit, Maine’s 2nd Annual Perkins Cove Plein Air Event, you’ll be able to enjoy the timeless sight of plein air painters in the act of putting brush to canvas in (and around) Perkins Cove — the heart of the Ogunquit Art Colony — from 9am through 2pm.
Then, between 2:30pm and 3:30pm there will be judging in Perkins Cove for Professional and Amateur awards PLUS the David Lussier Gallery of Excellence Amateur Award. All in, artists will be competing for over $3400 worth of prizes!

Perkins Cove will also be the site of a Wet Paint Sale (from 3:30pm until 5pm) where you’ll have the chance to purchase a one of a kind piece from the “beautiful place by sea” that you’ll cherish forever before the paint is even fully dry!

2022 Perkins Cove Plein Air Painting Event Judge
The judge for the Ogunquit, Maine’s 2022 Perkins Cove Plain Air Event is Eric Jacobsen.
Eric Jacobsen was born and raised in New England. He received a BA in History from Gordon College in Wenham, MA in 1989 and studied fine art at the Lyme Academy of Fine Arts in Old Lyme, CT from 1991-1995. At the Academy he received training in the Beaux Arts tradition of drawing and painting from life.

There are very few towns in the world, especially tiny towns like Ogunquit, that have been depicted so many times by such a wide variety of artists over the years.
