On Maine Maple Sunday, always celebrated on the fourth Sunday in March, the vast majority of Maine’s maple syrup producers open their doors to the public for a day of education and fun including free maple syrup samples, family activities, demonstrations on how maple syrup is made, and a whole much more.
For 2014, Chase Farms of Wells, Maine (just a quick ride from Ogunquit) participated by hosting maple-themed festivities on both Saturday and Sunday – and the crowds they drew were huge.

Mainers love their maple producers – and the multitude of cars parked along a sizable stretch of North Berwick Road during this sweet celebration spoke volumes about the quality of the experience that Chase Farms was offering up – most of it absolutely free of cost.
Free wagon rides, face painting, maple cotton candy, maple-topped ice cream, and samples of maple syrup “fresh off the evaporator” were made available – along with barn tours to see the resident baby pigs, work horses and cows on this “old-fashioned’ working farm.
Chase Farms is located at 1488 North Berwick Road. For more information, visit www.chasefarmswells.com.
