“It took me four years to paint like Raphael, but a lifetime to paint like a child.” ― Pablo Picasso.
The colors and frenetic energy of art made by young artists from across the southern seacoast area of Maine adorned all available wall space at Barn Gallery in Ogunquit last weekend during the 41st Annual Student Art Show!
Excited children and teens brought their parents, family, and friends to Barn Gallery for an exhibition of their work in the legendary home-base gallery of the Ogunquit Art Association: Maine’s Original Artists Group.
For many, it was their first time displaying work in a real gallery! For some of the parents, it was a trip down memory lane, as they shared nostalgic anecdotes about the time they had their student-era work hung in an earlier vintage of this same enduring Ogunquit art show.
The 41st Annual Student Art Show at Barn Gallery was sponsored by Gary W. Tirrell in memory of Ogunquit Art Association artist, Norman West.
