Ogunquit’s annual Christmas by the Sea weekend was a blazing success this year. The town was full of people. The businesses were decorated for the season.

  • 9:30-11am: VISIT WITH SANTA upstairs at the Fire Station(School Street). Get there a little early to see Santa arrive by fire engine. Have your photo taken with Santa and pick it up later at Ogunquit Camera Shop. One photo per family.
  • 9:30am-2:30pm: BASEMENT BAZAAR downstairs at the Dunaway Center (23 School Street). Can’t figure out what to get for that hard-to-buy-for person? Find a little bit of everything and something for everyone at this bazaar.
  • 10am-3pm: ANNUAL ARTS & CRAFTS SHOW at the Fire Station on School Street). Proceeds benefit Ogunquit Fire Rescue.
  • 10am-4pm: HAY RIDES at Veteran’s Park. $5 per person. Weather permitting.
  • 10am-6pm: CHRISTMAS PARTY Calluna Fine Flowers and Gifts (193 Shore Road).  20% off discount storewide and complimentary hors d’oeuvres & beverages.
  • 10:30am-1pm: THE “GIVING TREE” SILENT AUCTION downstairs at the Dunaway Center (23 School Street). Theme-decorated artificial trees have been donated by local businesses and individuals, to be silent auctioned. Be sure to bid on the popular lottery tree! Proceeds go to Hospice of York.
  • 11am-1:30pm: TASTE THE SEASON upstairs at the Dunaway Center(23 School Street). Taste a variety of foods (including lots of chowder!) from local dining establishments. Beer and wine tastings, too! Bring a donation for our local food pantry or animal shelter. VIP early admission at 11am: $15.Regular admission beginning at 11:45am: $10.   • 11am-3pm: ANNUAL ART SALE Gypsy Sweethearts, (30 Shore Road).More than fifteen artists and crafters selling their wares!  Original art, jewelry, wreaths, knit items,baked goods and more. There will be wine available by the glass for your shopping enjoyment.
  • 12pm (noon): OGUNQUIT OCEAN RESCUE POLAR PLUNGE at the Main Beach. Come support Toys for Tots and cheer on our Ogunquit Ocean Rescue Service as they brave the wintry elements. Members will plunge into the ocean in Polar Bear fashion with the hopes of ensuring a Merry Christmas for all. Please bring unwrapped toys, donations,and plenty of good cheer! Please note — due to property safety concerns,parking will not be available in the Main Beach Parking Lot after noon on Saturday. Parking will be available at the Lower Lot, on River Road.
  • 1-4pm: OPEN HOUSE at Ogunquit Heritage Museum (Obed’s Lane).Holiday decorations, winter paintings, creches and menorahs, plus refreshments.
  • 1-2pm: HOLIDAY STORY HOUR downstairs at Ogunquit Baptist Church (157 Shore Road). Seasonal stories read to the little ones! Checkvisitogunquit.org for more details on the location.
  • 2-3pm: KIDS’ ORNAMENT AND CHRISTMAS CARD MAKING downstairs at Ogunquit Baptist Church (157 Shore Road). We’ll bring the supplies; kids bring the creativity! Drop in to make an ornament or card to take home or send to Grandma.
  • SATURDAY: 2-5pm: WINE TASTING Perkins & Perkins Wine & Cheese Shop (478 Main Street). Featuring wines for the holiday table and for holiday gifts.
  • SATURDAY: 2-5pm: WINE TASTING Village Food Market (230 Main Street). Featuring great wines for the holidays, with cheese and crackers.
  • Saturday: 2pm: COMPLIMENTARY HOT CIDER: Northern Union (261 Shore Road)Watch the parade while enjoying complimentary hot cider.  Warm up by the fireplace, then step outside on the deck or lawn to watch the parade as it makes its way down Shore Road.
  • Saturday: 2pm: PATIO PARTY: Five-O Shore Road. Watch the parade from the famous annual patio party. The restaurant is open 11am to close for dining, and the patio opens at 2pm.
  • SATURDAY: 3pm: FREE HOT CHOCOLATE Bessie’s (8 Shore Road).Join RE/MAX Realty One for a free cup of hot chocolate during the parade.

  • 10am-4pm: HAY RIDES at Veteran’s Park. $5 per person. Weather permitting.
  • 11am-1pm: WANDERING MINSTREL  Wandering in and out of the shops downtown,this traditional minstrel will delight you with familiar and traditional Christmas songs.
  • SUNDAY: 12 noon-6pm : A SHINGLE VICTORIAN BY THE SEA Rockmere Lodge  (150 Stearns Road). See at least 15 different Christmas displays at the inn. Admission $5 per adult and $3 under 12. Proceeds go to Animal Welfare Society.
  • 1-4pm: OPEN HOUSE at Ogunquit Heritage Museum (Obed’s Lane).Holiday decorations, winter paintings, creches and menorahs, plus refreshments.
  • SUNDAY: 2pm: SOUTHERN MAINE CHRISTMAS PARADE in Wells. Wells Plaza to Wells Junior High School. This year’s theme is “home for the holidays”.
