On Monday, May 28th there was a Memorial Day Parade PLUS a ceremony at Veterans Park in downtown Ogunquit, Maine that helped us focus, in an affecting way, on the truth that Memorial Day is about so much more than the kick-off to summer, barbecues, and beaches.
This poignant celebration recognizing service members who paid the ultimate sacrifice for their country brought the Ogunquit community and holiday-weekend tourists together, out into the late-spring ocean air, and served the honorable purpose of reminding us all that the true duty of Americans on this day of reflection and gratitude is to honor, in meaningful remembrance, the many service members who paid the ultimate sacrifice for their country.
