The vibrant arts culture of Ogunquit, Maine is alive and buzzing!
Art lovers from across Maine, New England, and beyond were packed into Barn Gallery on May 26, 2018 during their Gala Reception for their Opening Exhibitions to view the museum quality work – and the kick-off to a full season of exhibitions, workshops, gallery talks, live performances, and more to celebrate the 90th Anniversary of the Ogunquit Art Association – Maine’s longest-established artists’ group!
Opening Exhibitions (which are able to be viewed at Barn Gallery from May 23 – June 23, 2018 – no admission charge) include ‘OAA Expressions’, an exhibition with a wide variety of subject and medium and ‘BIG’, an opportunity for OAA artists to show large, very large work.
Invited New England Sculptors exhibit in the outdoor Sculpture Court.
Painters Ree Katrak and Lennie Mullaney showcase their work in the North Gallery.

Founded 1928 by a group of artists and friends at the Perkins Cove Studio of painter Charles Woodbury, the Ogunquit Art Association has played a central part in the vibrant cultural life of the southern Maine/New Hampshire seacoast for over seventy years. Founded to bring together professional artists to exhibit their work to the public and to provide an educational forum, the OAA affords artists the opportunity to display their finest work.
The Ogunquit Art Association is a community of over ninety professional artists who live and work within 100 miles of Ogunquit. Some of us live in the area year round, enjoying the peace of our winter studios and drawing inspiration from the landscape and the seasons – or traveling to find new places and possibilities. Others summer here bringing in new ideas and imagery from away. All have been selected by a jury of OAA artists to exhibit as painters, graphic artists, sculptors or photographers at Barn Gallery.
