Whenever serious weather descends on Ogunquit, Maine, I always feel compelled to take the quick walk from the historic Thompson House (1750) / Hartwell House Inn down towards Perkins Cove and the Marginal Way to see what the ocean is doing.
Here is video (below) from such a walk during the 3/2/18 Nor’easter (dubbed Winter Storm Riley) as the initial mid-day high tide flooded Perkins Cove and battered the Marginal Way footpath.
Salt spray and sea foam from splash-over waves drenched the Oarweed Restaurant and Jackie’s Too – while rising water in the cove inched perilously close to Barnacle Billy’s.
