Why has the Ogunquit Maine Art and Photography Facebook Group been created?

Ogunquit, Maine is one of the most beautiful small beach towns in America. Generations upon generations of unforgettable memories have been created on our sandy beaches, in Perkins Cove (our working lobster harbor), along the Marginal Way scenic cliff walk, and while walking the Shore Road to Ogunquit’s bustling downtown with its wide array of boutique shops and restaurants.

Present day, our four-square mile town of Ogunquit is one of New England’s most cherished beach destinations – with over three miles of dreamscape sandy beaches! The best beaches in Maine!

This Ogunquit Maine Art and Photography Facebook group was created for members to share art and photography created in, inspired by, or depicting Ogunquit, Maine. Our goal is to provide an inspirational and welcoming atmosphere where artists/photographers of all skill sets want to post their Ogunquit created/inspired work. AND you MAY even sell your Ogunquit artwork in this group. Feel free to post price and contact information for Ogunquit created/inspired art you post here.

What is the Ogunquit Art Association? In 1928, the Ogunquit Art Association (Maine’s Original Artists’ Group – https://barngallery.org/), founded by Charles H. Woodbury, began organizing art education and exhibitions in this breathtakingly beautiful town. The arts activity in the village, along with the rugged coastal landscape and unique quality of light in Ogunquit attracted a wide variety of notable artists to visit; think Edward Hopper, Marsden Hartley, Bernard Karfiol, Yasuo Kuniyoshi, Alfred Bellows, Harmon Neill, Peggy Bacon, William Ehrig, Walt Kuhn, and hundreds of others.Ogunquit’s art scene is vibrant. Present Day: approximately 100 juried member artists (some with national and international reputations) of the Ogunquit Art Association continue the tradition at Barn Gallery where they host vibrant exhibitions, inspiring gallery talks, lively panel discussions, illuminating demonstrations, and enlightening workshops.
