Earlier today, Roost Cafe and Bistro of 262 Shore Road, Ogunquit, Maine made an announcement on their Facebook page informing their friends, community members, and the general public that they have decided to close their restaurant due to COVID-19 related challenges.
Additional Information on the Closing of Roost Cafe & Bistro in Ogunquit, Maine
The novel coronavirus has been exacting a significant toll on small businesses in Ogunquit and the nearby towns. This decision comes shortly after Bintliff’s Restaurant of Ogunquit, Maine closed their doors after 17 years due to COVID-19. Earlier this year the Ogunquit Playhouse cancelled their 2020 season and On The Marsh Bistro (of nearby Kennebunk) announced that they were also closing their doors permanently.
The announcement on the Roost Cafe & Bistro Facebook Page read:
To All of Our Roost Friends and Fans (aka Roosters),
We have come to the unfortunate decision that we can no longer survive operations during the Covid pandemic. As of July 6th, we shutter operations and will be liquidating our personal belongings at the restaurant in some form or another that is TBD. On November 2, 2020, the property will transition to a new owner, but does not have plans to open until late Spring 2021. We wish them the best !! So our thanks to all of our wonderful friends/family who have supported us over the years and made our restaurant and place where you could enjoy great company. We will miss you all, but are remaining here in town for the forseeable future. We look forward to seeing you in our “play” mode, rather then in our “work” mode. Stay safe and healthy…our best wishes to all. Rob and Aldo
